The Rome Art and Community Center and Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Association will be hosting a Bluegrass concert and Jam session Monday August 8th at 7:00 PM in the Carriage House located in the rear of the parking lot.
The featured group for the August 8th performance will be “Quarter to Orange.”
All are welcome to attend to enjoy the concert and jam. Musicians who play bluegrass music are encouraged to bring their instruments to join in and jam with the band after the concert.
The suggested donation for all attendees is $5.00. Doors will open at 6:30, concert starts at 7:00, and the jam session will follow immediately after the concert.
Quarter to Orange is a new bluegrass band in Central NY featuring Aaron Ingersoll on Mandolin, Cody Witherell on banjo and dobro, Shay Witherell on guitar, and Jameson Dunham on bass. They play everything from the founding fathers of bluegrass to the progressive pickers of today and feature some original music.
Aaron Ingersoll, form Pulaski, has been playing bluegrass, gospel, and country music for several years in NY as well as Colorado and Wyoming with the Ingersoll Family band, and has played with John Fogarty, Number 9 Coal, and Wyoming after Dark.
Cody and Shay Witherell, from Madison, have been playing together as the duet “11 Strings” for 15 years in Northern NY and Central NY. They also play with the Country group “Stache the Mic”.
Jameson Dunham, from Oneida, is a working and teaching musician, and recording engineer. In addition to his bass playing, he is an accomplished guitar, banjo, and mandolin player.
