Upcoming events

The MVBGA is set with its directors and officers for the coming year – at our October meeting of the membership the following slate of officers and directors was voted on by all in attendance:

President - Bill Fahy
Vice President - Dick Satterly

Treasurer - Mark Williams

Secretary - Donna Mucks

The officers serve one year terms which expire next October.

Amy Boulrice was nominated and will finish retiring board member Joann Satterly’s term, which expires in October 2027.   As I’m sure you all know -  Joann’s volunteer  service was above and beyond, especially behind the scenes, for many years.   We thank her for all she has done for this group!!!!   She will be missed she will continue to volunteer at our activities.

Dave Shannon was elected to a new term of 5 years, expiring in 2029.

The remaining directors and their term expiration dates are:

Pat Pepe - October 2025
Matt Weber - October 2028

Ed Karbowski  - October 2026

We will meet at the Steuben Town Hall for our November Saturday Jam.   Our next one will be on Saturday, November 16th at 10:00 AM. Hope you can join us – pickers and listeners are welcome.  We will have one more jam session in 2024 - December 9th at 6:30 PM at the Rome Art and Community Center - it will be our “Merry Christmas Jam”.   Come on out and pick and sing some Christmas and Bluegrass favorites - and enjoy the RACC decked out for Christmas - all are welcome!!!

We are concerned with the declining attendance at our jam sessions and other events and will be considering making some changes in 2025 – if you have any thoughts on how we can change this or what we can offer - please email them to us at mvbga2002@gmail.com

I’m happy to report that the new Bluegrass Jam in the area will continue for the rest of the year – Adam Dudding is leading the jam on the  4th  Sunday of every month.  It’s being hosted by the Kirkland Art Center at 6:30 PM.  Pickers and listeners are welcome – a $5 donation is requested from listeners for use of the KAC.   Come on out and support Bluegrass in our region!
